VWR® polycarbonate resin is an amorphous engineering thermoplastic, characterized by outstanding mechanical, optical, electrical, and thermal properties.

The Lexan® resins we employ are environmentally conforming to flame retardancy, scratch resistance, toughness, heat resistance, weatherability, biocompatibility, optical quality.

VWR® Serum Vials are ideal for sampling, storage, production and packaging of steam sterilized biologicals. They are ideal for leak-proof shipment of reagents and buffer solutions. All vials and caps have a lot number traceability. These shatterproof, resistant containers are useful for packaging serum, veterinary, pharmaceuticals, cosmeceutical, and nutraceutical extracts. They can be used with most aromatic compounds and essential oils.

All products are packaged and produced in a clean room controlled environment and do not need to be rinsed prior to first use. Consequently all VWR® Lexan® polycarbonate (PC) labware is a safer alternative to glass. It is ideal for steam sterilization of all biologicals, liquids, reagents, media, buffers and aqueous solutions. VWR® media bottles and flasks withstand repeated autoclaving, and are optimal for all microbial culture media production and preparation of terminally sterile fluids.

Based on these properties and their inert nature, we developed VWR® media bottles and shaker flasks to be the ideal vessels for lab use. All Avantor products are manufactured in a Class 10K cleanroom.
