Vacuum Traps
This twin chambered dry ice vacuum trap is designed to be used with rotary evaporators or any other large solvent evaporation applications

Two ports are located on the sides of chambers; one is for connection to the evaporator, the other to the vacuum source. Both are 10mm O.D., for use with 3/8-inch I.D. tubing. The stopcock at bottom is 4mm PTFE 90° bore, for draining condensate one chamber at a time. Normally, the condensate will collect in the chamber connected nearest to the evaporator until it is filled to crossover between chambers. Then the second chamber will fill. The capacity of the vacuum traps is 450mL each. The capacity of the chambers with the traps inserted is approximately 600mL each. Overall height of the unit is approximately 18 inches.

The unique, squatty design is 18 inches high, and the use of twin chambers offers increased condensing capacity that would be attained only with a much taller, single chambered condenser. The vacuum traps are secured into the main body chambers via #50 Ace-Threds using bushings and o-rings. This type of connection allows for easy removal for cleaning. Fabricated from borosilicate glass.
