Spectra/Gel® Absorbent, Spectrum® Laboratories

Designed to facilitate the concentration of protein sample solutions quickly and efficiently, this polyacrylate-polyalcohol absorbent expands as it absorbs water

After dialysis, simply remove the tubing containing the sample and coat it with Spectra/Gel® absorbent. Water and smaller molecules diffuse through the membrane and are absorbed. Concentration continues unattended until a predetermined volume of water is removed from the sample. The solution is easy to remove after absorbancy. The time needed for concentration will depend upon the final volume, the MWCO, the surface-to-volume ratio of the membrane tubing, and the amount of Spectra/Gel® absorbent solution applied.

The high molecular weight polymer can be used with dialysis membranes ranging from MWCO 100 to 300,000 without contaminating the sample.
