Econo reusable cages are designed for the housing and/or breeding of rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs.
Durable polycarbonate cages are clear and have extremely high impact strength. They are highly resistant to chemicals and solvents, and practically unbreakable. In addition, they can withstand autoclaving up to 121 °C (250 °F). Economical polypropylene cages are translucent with good impact strength, and the smooth surface allows for easy cleaning. They are highly resistant to chemicals and solvents and can withstand temperatures up to 110 °C (230 °F).
The disposable cage (73000-214) is constructed of transparent polystyrene and has a flat top rim for strength and rigidity. It also features stacking lugs and is tapered for easy nesting. It is chemical and solvent resistant and can withstand temperatures up to 80 °C (176 °F). The cage rack consists of four adjustable aluminum shelves suitable for use with various cage sizes (sold separately). The rack includes swivel ball-bearing casters, easy-lock brakes, and stainless steel posts. Rack dimensions: 114.3Wx35.6Dx127.0H cm (45×14×50").
Wire-bar lids are constructed of Type 304 stainless steel to provide a long service life. They are V-shaped, nestable, and incorporate a hinged divider to separate the food hopper from the water bottle holder.
Lid 10718-081 has 6.4 mm (1/4") bar spacing to accommodate mice and gerbils. The larger lid 10717-704 with 9 mm (3/8") bar spacing accommodates rats, hamsters, and guinea pigs. Lids have lifting handles and utilize hold-down clips to secure the lid to cage.
Clear, polycarbonate 500 ml water bottles are square with a wide mouth. They are practically unbreakable as well as autoclavable. Rubber stopper 10717-700 fits the bottle. Stainless steel sipper tubes are available as a straight tube or tube with 120° bend.
