Magnetic automation transport systems require robust performance and sometimes, even with careful attention to detail, some caps do not sit perfectly square to the vial axis. When this occurs, the magnetic system may be compromised, and the vial may tilt at a slight angle, or lose proper metal-to-magnetic contact, which results in a disruption and halting the analytical progress. In some cases, the vial may dislodge, fall, or possibly damage the transport system.
This polymer-magnetic hybrid cap is designed to address the robustness issues found with either all-metal 18mm caps for headspace analysis or caps with ferrous 'metal washers' a top the cap, commonly found in the 9 mm size. MicroLiter® BlueMAG™ screw caps also eliminate the 'glass-to-metal' grinding and provide added assurance against breakage and confidence of use in automated sample transport systems.
