PFKFB4 (also known as 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2, 6-biphosphatase-4) regulates the steady-state concentration of fructose-2, 6-bisphosphate, a potent activator of a key regulatory enzyme of glycolysis pathway called phosphofructokinase. Isozymes of PFKFB differ in the regions surrounding the catalytic core, which are important for the differential response to allosteric effectors and hormonal signals in different tissues (1). PFKFB4 is highly expressed in brain, heart, liver, muscle, placenta, adipose tissue, ovary, fallopian tubes, and testis (2). PFKFB4 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Fructose Kinase Proteins , Cancer, Cell Cycle, and Metabolic Disorder research.
PFKFB4 Protein is stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 50mM NaCl, 10mM glutathione, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.25mM DTT, 0.1mM PMSF, 25% glycerol. PFKFB4 Protein is suitable for use in Western Blot. Expect a band approximately ~82kDa on specific lysates or tissues. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
