MycoScope™ PCR Mycoplasma Detection Kit utilizes PCR to detect the presence of mycoplasma contamination in cultured cells in less than three hours.

The primers used in this kit anneal to the highly conserved 16S rRNA coding region in the mycoplasma genome, allowing detection of all important species of mycoplasma (see table below)
The MycoScope kit has been tested for use with a variety of commercially available DNA polymerases. The kit contains a positive control DNA, and a successfully performed reaction is indicated by a distinct 500 bp band on the agarose gel. The same band also indicates the possible presence of mycoplasma species in the cell culture.
Mycoplasma contaminants can be detected simply by running amplified fragments on an agarose gel.
Delivery information: The kit includes dNTP/buffer mixture (1X), primer mix (5X), positive control reaction tube and molecular biology grade water 1.5 mL. The product comes in either 50 reaction kit or 100 reaction kit.
