RELM-alpha is a member to the family of adipocyte-secreted proteins called adipocytokines. It is abundantly expressed in white adipose tissue but not in preadipocytes, nor 3T3-L1 adipocytes. RELM-alpha is involved in the regulation of colonic inflammation and might be a link between colonic injury, glucose tolerance, and energy intake.
ELISA: (direct or indirect: 1:5,000-1:10,000). Western blot: (1:5,000-1:10,000 using ECL. Suggested blocking and dilution buffer is TBST with 0.05% Tween 20 and 5% skim milk. Suggested incubation time is 1 hour at rooom temperature). Optimal conditions should be determined individually for each application.
