Proteins and Peptides
IL-20 belongs to the IL-10 cytokine family of structurally similar but functionally diverse members, and forms a subgroup with IL-19 and IL-24. IL-20 is produced by activated keratinocytes and monocytes. It regulates proliferation and differentiation in keratinocytes during inflammation. IL-20 is shown to signal through IL-20Ra/IL-20Rb (Type I) receptor complex, activating the STAT3 signaling pathway. IL-20 can also signal through an IL-20Rb/IL-22R (Type II) receptor complex. Both receptor complexes are shared with the other cytokines within the subgroup.
