Azur B (Azur I; Methylene Azur B) is an important component of Giemsa's stain for blood protozoa.
Can be used for staining semi-thin sections of plant tissue and distinction of cellular RNA and DNA in botanical tissue. Can also be used as polychromatic stains for thin sections, Negri body stain and malarial parasites.
