VNN1(Vascular non-inflammatory molecule 1) is also named as Vanin-1,Pantetheinase,Tiff66.It is a GPI-anchored 70-kDa protein with a high degree of homology with GPI-80 (also known as VNN2), a molecule expressed by human phagocytes and involved in leukocyte adhesion and migration.Vanin-1 is predominantly expressed by resident tissue cells and acts at the level of epithelial cells and surrounding hematopoietic cells by paracrine cysteamine release. The full length VNN1 has a signal peptide, a propeptide and six glycosylation sites. According to some authors, the variations which varied between 55 and 72kDa may be due to different degrees of glycosylation of the protein and cleavage(JOSE A et al. 2001)．
