MOGAT2, also named as DC5 and DGAT2L5, belongs to the diacylglycerol acyltransferase family. MOGAT2 catalyze the reaction: Acyl-CoA + 2-acylglycerol = CoA + diacylglycerol. MOGAT2 has a preference toward monoacylglycerols containing unsaturated fatty acids. MOGAT2 plays a central role in absorption of dietary fat in the small intestine by catalyzing the resynthesis of triacylglycerol in enterocytes. And it plays a role in diet-induced obesity. The antibody can recognize all these 3 isoform of MOGAT2.
