Antibodies
Claudin 1-8 proteins are a family of transmembrane proteins associated with tight junctions. Tight junctions are specialized regions of cell to cell contact; made up of network of strands to act as a molecular gasket for preventing the leakage of ions, water etc. between cells. They are abundant in luminal epithelial sheets where they maintain epithelial cell polarity. Different tissues exhibit different Claudin composition. Western Blot (Ab 2-4 μg/mL for 2 hrs at RT) Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin) (1:100-1:200 for 30 min) Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive Control T47D cells, Skin or Breast carcinoma. Cellular Localization Cell membrane on skin and cytoplasmic & nuclear on breast carcinoma. Recognizes Claudin 1. Species Crossreactivity: Human, Monkey, Mouse, Canine, and Rat.

Claudin 1 antibody can be used in immunohistochemistry starting at 10 ?g/mL.

10 mM PBS, pH 7.6, 0.2% BSA, 15 mM sodium azide, before the addition of glycerol to 40%

Store Claudin 1 antibody at 4 °C or -20 °C. As with all antibodies avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
