Anti-MMP9 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [clone: [IIA5]]
MMPs are a group of enzymes involved in matrix degradation. They share some important characteristics, such as a common mode of activation, a conserved amino acid sequence in the putative metal binding-active site region, and inhibition by specific proteinase inhibitors known as tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). Degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) is an essential step in tumor invasion and metastasis. The MMPs each have different substrate specificities within the ECM and are important in its degradation. MMP activity is dependent on the levels of activated MMP and TIMPs. MMP-9 is also known as collagenase IV or gelatinase B. Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry (FFPE) and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recognizes pro (latent) and activated forms of matrix metalloproteinase 9. Species Crossreactivity: Human and rat.

MMP9 antibody can be used in immunohistochemistry starting at 5 ?g/mL.
