Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, ELISA, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recognizes human CD91, a type I membrane protein which is also known as the alpha 2 macroglobulin receptor (alpha 2 MR). Recognizes an epitope in the extracellular region of the 500kD alpha chain.

The low-density lipoprotein receptor related protein 1 (LRP1) is a cell surface protein highly expressed in liver that has close structural and biochemical similarities to the LDL receptor. LRP1 strongly binds calcium and mediates the clearance of chylomicron remnants from the plasma. LPR1 was also separately cloned as the alpha-2-macroglobulin receptor (A2MR) and is necessary for the A2M mediated clearance of beta-amyloid 40 and 42 via receptor-mediated endocytosis. LPR1 may undergo cleavage and the small C-terminal intracellular domain may be found in the cytoplasm or the nucleus of cells.

LRP1 antibody can be used in ELISA, and immunohistochemistry starting at 20 ?g/mL.
