MKK6, a MAP2K type protein kinase, is a member of the p38 MAP kinase signal transduction pathway which mediates stress induced cell cycle arrest, transcription activation and apoptosis. MKK6 can be phosphorylated by the kinases MEKK3, MEKK4, ASK1 or TAK1. Phosphorylated MKK6 activates p38 MAP kinases. At least two protein isoforms, resulting from transcript variants of the MKK6 gene, have been identified - 278 and 334 amino acids.
MAP2K6 antibody can be used in ELISA starting at 1: 10000, Western Blot starting at 1: 500 - 1: 2000, and immunohistochemistry starting at 1:200.
