Amersham Hybond-XL is a novel, charged nylon membrane that has a greater concentration and a more even distribution of positive charge than other charged nylon membranes

It retains all the features of other nylon membranes, including high binding capacity up to 600 µg/cm², efficient binding of small fragments, effective probe removal, and exceptional properties for reprobing. The positively charged nylon membrane is designed to give optimum signal-to-noise ratios when used with radioactively labeled probes. Membranes are designed exclusively for nucleic acid transfer applications using radioactive detection, and requiring alkali transfer to achieve an improved signal to noise ratio. Highly recommended for DNA dot/slot blots and applications requiring low volume hybridization.
