With HALO Phenyl-Hexyl, separations occur due to both hydrophobic and pi–pi interactions. Enhanced retention and selectivity for aromatic and unsaturated analytes (especially those with electron-withdrawing groups and halogens). Compatible with highly aqueous mobile phases.
HALO Phenyl-Hexyl is available in 2.7 and 5 micron particle sizes. HALO Phenyl-Hexyl has a carbon load of 7.1% and a bonded phase coverage of 3.6 micromoles per square meter. HALO Phenyl-Hexyl has a pH range of 2 - 9 and a maximum operating temperature of 60 degrees C.

HALO columns generate significantly less back pressure compared to other UHPLC columns, putting less stress on the system and facilitating rugged reliable performance. It is this moderate back pressure of HALO columns that also permits them to be used with most conventional HPLC equipment for UHPLC performance. The combination of much lower backpressure and excellent efficiency at higher linear velocities permits the easy transfer of methods from UHPLC to HPLC, and vice versa.
