Tumor cell invasion requires a coordinated set of events that includes cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion, degradation of the extracellular matrix, and cell migration
Corning® BioCoat™ Tumor Invasion Systems incorporate a fluorescent blocking Corning® FluoroBlok™ (8.0µm) PET membrane coated with Corning® Matrigel® Matrix, which provides an authentic barrier to noninvasive cells. The fluorescent blocking membrane eliminates the need for removing/swabbing noninvasive cells from the insert surface. The systems are suitable for both pre- and post-fluorescently labeled cells for running real-time kinetic or endpoint assays, respectively.
Tumor Invasion Plates are suitable for use in secondary cell-based screening assays of prospective anti-metastatic compounds. These proprietary plates can be used for both manual and robotic uses and are compatible with most fluorescence plate readers, robots, and fluid handling instruments.
This reproducible assay system has been developed for the study of tumor cell invasion using standard protocols.
