ACE® Excel C18-AR 2 micron UHPLC columns use a proprietary bonding and end-capping process to produce a very rugged and robust octadecyl-phenyl (C18-AR) phase
ACE® Excel C18-AR leverages the selectivity of a C18 and a phenyl phase to separate mixtures that are very difficult to separate with either single phase alone. The ultra-inert characteristics of the ACE® Excel C18-AR columns make them the ideal choice for separating analytes that differ in hydrophobicity, electron-poor analytes with electron delocalization and electron withdrawing groups (i.e. halogens, nitro groups, ketones, esters, and acids). Recommended applications for basic analytes, heterocycles, proton donors and acceptors, and halogenated aromatics. ACE® columns consistently produce measurably better peak shape and column efficiency when separating troublesome compounds. ACE® Excel C18-AR is also compatible with 100% Aqueous mobile phases for enhanced retention in reversed phase mode.
ACE® Excel C18-AR is available in 2, 3 and 5 micron particles sizes. ACE® Excel C18-AR has a surface area of 300 m2/g and a carbon load of 15.5%. ACE® Excel C18-AR has a recommended pH range of 2-8 (working outside these ranges will reduce column lifetime).
ACE® Excel UHPLC columns are extremely robust even when operated at high pressures and temperatures. ACE® Excel 2 micron columns are packed at extreme pressures in specialized hardware. They can be operated at pressures as high as 1,000 bar. A specially engineered 2 micron inlet frit makes them less prone to plugging than conventional UHPLC columns. ACE® Excel columns are compatible with all HPLC, UPLC and UHPLC instruments.
Ordering information: ACE® Excel 2 micron UHPLC columns currently do not have a guard column system. Manufacturer highly recommends UltraShield pre-column filters.
