ACE® C18 HL (high load) uses a proprietary bonding and end-capping process to produce a very rugged and robust octadecyl (C18) phase with high surface area

ACE® C18 HL is a high surface area, high carbon load phase, leading to increased retention and loading compared to ACE® C18. Availability of particle sizes up to 15 microns ensures easy scale-up for preparative and process scale applications.

ACE® C18 HL is available in 3, 5, 10 and 15 micron particles sizes. ACE® C18 HL has a surface area of 400 m2/g and a carbon load of 20.0%. ACE® C18 HL has a recommended pH range of 2-8 (working outside these ranges will reduce column lifetime). ACE® C18 is also available for UHPLC applications under the brand name ACE® EXCEL C18 2 micron UHPLC columns.

ACE® C18 HL is especially useful for preparative applications. ACE® columns are manufactured using ultra-pure based-deactivated silica that has extremely low silanol activity. This ultra-pure silica is efficiently bonded and exhaustively end-capped using proprietary technology. The result is silica based stationary phase that has virtually eliminated the negative effects of silanols on chromatographic separations

Ordering information: ACE® C18-HL columns have two options for pre-column guard systems. One is a stand-alone guard holder which needs the guard cartridge pack (See the Accessory tab on this page) that matches the analytical column ID size that is chosen and needs a column coupler. Most customers use the integral guard system.
