Hygromycin B, produced by Streptomyces hygroscopicus, is used as a selection agent and inhibits protein synthesis in cells not carrying hygromycin phosphotransferase (HPH)

Application: Recommended for use as a selection agent at 100-800 μg/mL. Biochem/physiol Actions: Mode of Action: Blocks polypeptide synthesis and inhibits elongation.
