This gene encodes a member of the sarcoglycan family. Sarcoglycans are transmembrane components in the dystrophin-glycoprotein complex which help stabilize the muscle fiber membranes and link the muscle cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix. Mutations in this gene have been associated with myoclonus-dystonia syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB: 1:500-1:3000, IHC-P: 1:100-1:1000. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.
