VWR maintains certain memberships and affiliations that bring additional value to our customers. Below is a list of current memberships that cross a spectrum of markets in the research and scientific space.

RX360

Rx-360 is a consortium being developed by volunteers from the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry which includes their suppliers.  The purpose is to enhance the security of the pharmaceutical supply chain and to assure the quality and authenticity of the products moving through the supply chain. The individuals developing this concept are working in the best interest of patients.  We are a non-profit organization with the mission to create and monitor a global quality system that meets the expectations of industry and regulators that assures patient safety by guaranteeing product quality and authenticity throughout the supply chain.

E&I

Educational & Institutional Cooperative Service, Inc. is a not-for-profit buying cooperative established by members of the National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP) to provide goods and services to members at the best possible value. The Cooperative is owned by its membership of more than 2,400 colleges, universities, K-12, hospitals, medical research institutions and hospital purchasing organizations located throughout the United States

BIO

BIO is the world's largest biotechnology organization, providing advocacy, business development and communications services for more than 1,100 members worldwide. BIO members are involved in the research and development of innovative healthcare, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products. Corporate members range from entrepreneurial companies developing a first product to Fortune 500 multinationals. We also represent state and regional biotech associations, service providers to the industry, and academic centers. The mission of BIO is to be the champion of biotechnology and the advocate for its member organizations - both large and small.

NAEP (National Association of Educational Procurement)

Since the 1920’s, NAEP has been the non-profit professional Association primarily dedicated to serving higher education purchasing officers in the U.S. and Canada. NAEP’s mission is to facilitate the development, exchange and practice of effective and ethical procurement principles and techniques within higher education and associated communities, through continuing education, networking, public information and advocacy. Members of the Association founded the E&I Cooperative Service as an important benefit of NAEP Membership.

Currently, over 1,500 colleges and universities are Members. NAEP is a Member-focused Association providing progressive knowledge management in strategic sourcing, supply chain, materials and logistics for procurement professionals. NAEP provides professional development and networking opportunities regionally and nationally. These meetings, workshops and seminars provide knowledge transfer in procurement ranging from beginning to advanced professionals and are conducted throughout the year and across the nation.

NAOSMM (National Association of Scientific Material Managers)

NAOSMM is a professional organization of laboratory managers, science storeroom personnel, teaching lab coordinators, purchasing personnel, and chemical safety officers that was founded in 1974. Our members include representatives from academia, manufacturing, research laboratories and pharmaceutical companies.

AMSMIC (Association of Medical School Microbiology and Immunology Chairs)

Is an organization whose purpose is to promote, advance and support the educational and scientific purposes of the field of microbiology and immunology, and to provide a forum for communication among chairpersons of Departments of Microbiology and Immunology or equivalent organizational units responsible for teaching medical students. Other goals of AMSMIC are to aid in the education and training of medical students and physicians; to explore means, methods, agencies and funds by which such microbiological and immunological and other scientific research and education may be furthered, and to assist dissemination of microbiological and immunological and other medical and scientific knowledge.

CIRM

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (“The Institute” or “CIRM”) is a state agency that was established through the passage of Proposition 71, the California Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative. The statewide ballot measure, which provided $3 billion in funding for stem cell research at California universities and research institutions, was approved by California voters on November 2, 2004, and called for the establishment of a new state agency to make grants and provide loans for stem cell research, research facilities and other vital research opportunities. VWR is a CIRM self-certified supplier.
